Ellen Arcamone, LCSW
Ellen Arcamone is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who specializes in treating adults and young adults. Ellen uses a client-centered and compassionate, strength-based approach, helping her clients to navigate through life’s transitions and stressors. Ellen believes in the power of change and is extremely passionate about helping her clients to grow, learn, and evolve.
Ellen has extensive experience treating addiction, grief, anxiety, depression, adjustment, as well as personality disorders, with a special focus on women’s issues. Ellen uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Psychodynamic modalities. She is also trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) to address and treat trauma and PTSD.
Ellen earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from Southern CT State University; and then, she obtained her master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Ellen has years of clinical experience in a multitude of settings. Most recently, she led the Women’s Outpatient Program at Silver Hill Hospital, in addition to, simultaneously, working with patients in Silver Hill’s Transitional Living Program, treating co-occurring disorders. Ellen also works with New Canaan-based community programs, both facilitating groups and speaking about a variety of important mental health topics.
